Can anyone here ID this old outlet?

Also: Wondering if there is any kind of adapter available to plug in a modern lamp to this outlet?

It identifies as a 10 amp outlet.

I'm surprised your lamp has a grounded plug. Most don't.

You need one of these guys - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheater_plug

Although it would be best to install a grounded outlet. but obviously a lot more work.

It looks like the outlet lacks a polarity slot (i.e. the neutral slot should be slightly larger than the other). I'm unaware of such as adapter, but they might exist, or you could replace the plug on the lamp, or grind/cut off a bit of the adapter mattkime linked too until it fits.

I can identify, and confirm, that yes, it is an old outlet.

Hubbell, the company identified on the outlet, is still around. You might try reaching out to their tech support department.

My guess is that it is a Hubbell 10 Amp, 250 Volt outlet.

With this style plug the wiring is probably only two wires - hot and neutral with no ground which is needed for a grounded outlet.
