DOJ declares NYC, Portland and Seattle as "governments that are permitting anarchy, violence and destruction"
#1
Time to send in federal officers to "keep the peace" right around ballot counting time.

This gives the DOJ a framework for withholding federal law enforcement and criminal justice support funds to these cities.

“When state and local leaders impede their own law enforcement officers and agencies from doing their jobs, it endangers innocent citizens who deserve to be protected, including those who are trying to peacefully assemble and protest,” said Attorney General William P. Barr. “We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance. It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice today will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens.”

Criteria for evaluating each city is below:

Whether a jurisdiction forbids the police force from intervening to restore order amid widespread or sustained violence or destruction.
Whether a jurisdiction has withdrawn law enforcement protection from a geographical area or structure that law enforcement officers are lawfully entitled to access but have been officially prevented from accessing or permitted to access only in exceptional circumstances, except when law enforcement officers are briefly withheld as a tactical decision intended to resolve safely and expeditiously a specific and ongoing unlawful incident posing an imminent threat to the safety of individuals or law enforcement officers.
Whether a jurisdiction disempowers or defunds police departments.
Whether a jurisdiction unreasonably refuses to accept offers of law enforcement assistance from the Federal Government.
Any other related factors the Attorney General deems appropriate.

Yes, and those Wall Street Anarchists are the source for the growing insurrection taking place in the stock markets as well. Today's plunge is a direct attack on the tremendous Trump triumphs. Just like the Communist conspirators at the CDC are lying about the 5 million COVID infections.

The designations issued Monday come after Trump issued a memorandum earlier this month instructing that federal funds should “to the maximum extent permitted by law” not go to cities his administration labels “anarchist.”

Trump’s previous efforts to withhold federal funding from “sanctuary cities,” like Seattle, have largely been blocked by the courts.

“President Trump cannot defund Seattle – it is unlawful,” Durkan said in a statement earlier this month. “Surely the Attorney General has advised the President of the United States that he does not have the power to decide who gets funding based on his political interests.”

"Any other related factors the Attorney General deems appropriate."

Seems pretty open ended.

So, here's my impression. Feel free to correct me, and I know you will...

Portland's been a hotbed...for a couple blocks, and only got super hot when supremacists came to stir the pot. But I have missed the headlines about NYC and Seattle being ablaze. Are they still be butthurt about CHAD, that largely disbanded what, a month ago now?

But what's the damage between then and Jan 20, 2021?

In the memo DOJ outlines the reasons for targeting each of these three cities. For Seattle yes it's because CHAZ happened. For NYC it's because crime has increased since May and they're blaming that on protesters. Neither of the those cities has had much of any ongoing protests since June. What has happened was minor. None of the cities are prosecuting protesters the way DOJ wants, and none of them welcomed the federal law enforcement "support" that was offered.

Who doesn't want anonymous jack booted thugs abducting people off the streets without warrants just for expressing freedom of speech...

Murder is up everywhere this year:

The New York Times reported recently: “It has been nearly a quarter century since New York City experienced as much gun violence in the month of June as it has seen this year.” (On Sunday, there were at least nine killings in the city.)

An additional 11 cities provide year-to-date murder data. Murder is up 21.8 percent in all 36 cities with 2020 data through at least May, with 29 of those cities seeing an increase this year relative to last year.

Do ya think some of it could be related to unemployment and prolonged quarantine resulting from a nonsensical and ineffective response to Covid?

Naahhh.
