“ Proud Boys leader was ‘prolific’ informer for law enforcement “

“ Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys extremist group, has a past as an informer for federal and local law enforcement, repeatedly working undercover for investigators after he was arrested in 2012, according to a former prosecutor and a transcript of a 2014 federal court proceeding obtained by Reuters.

In the Miami hearing, a federal prosecutor, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling. “

Saw that article. Wonder if his "boys" will come after him…

I'm surprised that was allowed to be made public.

That makes sense. Small time criminal snitches to get out of trouble, then later his lawyer tries to use the snitching record to help him again, tho that makes it public record.

I bet the worst of these Jan 6 people sleep with one eye open. No honor among terrorists.

The hearing transcript was clearly leaked to Reuters, and once the cat is out of the bag, at least one prosecutor felt comfortable commenting on it. These records probably were sealed by the court, but as we know, that's not a perfect system.

It's the deep state trying to destroy the TRUE Patriot movement.

Another irony is that someone with a Hispanic (if that’s the right word) background such as his, fighting for white supremacy. I know that movement has tried to encompass all Europeans lately, but these idiots don’t realize in the end they will only tolerate the blonde hair blue-eyed ideal and send the rest to gas chambers.

A non sequitur, red herring, and distraction all in one. A footnote, signifying nothing in the vast absence of context.

I liked the part where he denies any recall of being an informer. Ah, the bliss of forgetfulness.

I imagine that some on the right will claim that this is disinformation intended to damage the patriot cause, but I also imagine that a lot of his companions will no longer trust him very much.

What's missing from all these accounts is this question: Did we really see the bulk of the white power leadership in that attack on the capitol, and will the continuing arrests by the feds do a lot to neuter the movement? They don't have to arrest a majority of the movement -- the feds just need to make clear that if you show your face, you are going to jail. We will rapidly see whether all that talk about taking up arms and fighting the new civil war is just talk. I'm not hearing anything about hordes of militia members massing for a fight, but then again, I don't live in Idaho.

Neither do most of the white supremacists in active hate groups and militias. This is something I wish my fellow liberals would stop doing. Stop stereotyping by geography. The Jan. 6 people came from all over the country.
