Are Republican voters going to return to the party?
#1
McCarthy is going down to Fla to kiss the ring. But will the everyday Republican voter return to the party if Trump is still running it and a big part of same?

Some won't but most will stay. There's a good number of people who are in denial about what is happening within their own party. Their team says its okay....what are they supposed to do, listen to democrats?

It would be nice if there were a moderately Conservative party that has long term goals about the national debt rising no faster on the average than the overall economy, and cares a little about reviving the manufacturing sector. We could do that by developing the sustainable energy sector which would include building the non-lithium batteries to store all that solar and wind energy. Texas and Oklahoma could still be energy leaders, they just would do it for something other than crude oil.

And yes, I understand that this was about the party returning to the voters rather than the other way around, because the Republicans under Eisenhower and Nixon were not totally crazy, and showed some respect to environmental issues.

What would be very interesting - and hardly far fetched - would be for Trump to just go ahead and say he's running for president on his own, claim to win, and then claim that he's @REALPOTUS.

He's probably having knock down drag out fights with Milania over how Mar a Lago is decorated. Remember he ordered her decorations stripped out of the facility. He's in a building trying to have guests that adore him over, "Howya doin' Kev! Aw, man, I miss y'all!"

Then he's Scarface.

Trump: Is this it? Is this what it's all about Kevin? Eating, drinking, #$%ing, snorting, sucking. Then what? Tell me"

I got a *^%king junkie for a wife. I can't even have a kid with her. Her womb is so polluted, I can't even have a little baby with her.

Milania: "How dare you talke to me like that!!! What makes you so much better than me? What do you do? Taunt people and cheat people? A real contribution to human history. You wan't a kid? What kind of a father do you think you are??? Are you gonna drive him to school in the mornings??? Are you even going to be alive by the time the kid goes to school? I have Nick, The Pig as a friend. Can't you see what we've become The Donald? We're losers!

Kevin: "I'll get her a cab Mr President.
Trump: Let her go. Another quaalude, she'll be back. She gonna love me again.

Trump: "you need people like me so you can point your %$&ing fingers and say THAT'S THE BAD GUY!"

Yeah they have no leadership, so they flounder with Trump's influence. By the evidence, they are less interested in positive outcomes and more interested in power outcomes. They are fighting for their existence instead of fighting for any sort of ideals or platform.

Yes, they walked away from any platform when they voted the Orange Man as leader.

And that hasn’t changed. Even Romney will say that OM is the most powerful voice in the GOP today.

The Lincoln Project seems to be the voice of conservatism tied to principles. But even they admit they are surprised there are so few GOP willing to refute the new God.

I think they are more likely to just not vote. They won't like the Democrats if Trump isn't there to vote against, they won't support the GOP if Trump is there, they won't bother to reregister simply because Americans are lazy. So they simply won't vote in the future.

It's the path of least resistance

Let them tear their party apart.

Party loyalist have eaten so much refuse and falsehood that they almost permanently live in an alternate universe. There really isn't any hope.

The best hope is for the party to fall apart into the Trump Cult and the rest of the party. And hope that the 'silent majority' stays with the grand OLD Party and the whack jobs fade away into irrelevance. And get REJECTED by the Republicans.

They did it to themselves. They took ownership of the Klan. They took ownership of the TEA. They took ownership of Trump. In their hunt for power they completely destroyed all of their integrity and any 'morality'.
