Joe and Jill Biden join Democrats and Republicans to pay respects to slain Capitol cop Brian Sicnick, 42, as he lies in state in building he was defending from MAGA rioters when he was killed

And Mike Pence, whose life Sicknick helped to save, is on vacation in the Virgin Islands . Taking a break from 2024 fundraising.

I teared up at the sight of a REAL President. When he shook his head in sorrow and disgust, I realized how grateful I am that Biden won.

What is SO disgusting is that while he at least had some support in the form of other officers, they were still vastly outnumbered by that mob. The had no chance. It's a miracle that more did not perish.
What's even more maddening is that the Capitol Police Department had a budget of $500M last year. That's more than many large city departments covering hundreds of thousands of citizens and hundreds of square miles. And CPD has responsibility for a few thousand at the Capitol and a few square BLOCKS. WTH?!?!? Why were these officers left on their own against a mob? Who was responsible for planning and preparation? There are some high ranking and some who split the next day in that department who must be held responsible for this failure in planning in addition to those who incited the mob: the impeached underwear stain, his ilk in Congress; and the cretins who actually mobbed the Capitol. They ALL need to be brought to justice.

You know, I'd hate to make this man's death a cause celebre, but this really has to be the Benghazi for 45.

Very moving. Shed a few tears.
