I have an SE with 128 GB, about 1/2 full. But, I don't take a lot of pictures or videos
I think a 12 Pro (not Max), with 3 cameras, would motivate me to take more pictures, and more video (4K). So not sure if I want to go for 512 or just stay with 256 that I have on order but didn't get a chance to pick up yet.

Unless you are making a movie, you can always download/upload your cool movies to computer/cloud and shoot more. 256 will likely be more than enough!

Agree, 256 is probably enough for most.

Yeah... the cloud or local storage.
I get the appeal... but cant imagine needing to carry around 200 GB of "stuff" to have at my finer tips...

This is silly. Your media should be constantly downloaded to an archive (e.g. you computer or a cloud service and then you should have a separate backup of the archive. Only copies of images you ant immediate access to should be on the phone. 256gb is more than enough.

256 FTW. I just upgraded from an SE 128 with iCloud, never ran out of room. Now on a 12 Mini 128, still plenty of room. Thanks, iCloud! Though I've only had bigger iCloud a few months, it's been great peace of mind.
Prepare yourself for a giant phone, though, going from SE to a regular sized 12. My wife went from iPhone 7 to 11 recently and it took her awhile to get used to lugging that thing around, LOL. Even my 12 Mini has been a bit of an adjustment for me from my OG SE, though I certainly agree it's an improvement. No bezel/full screens rock.

Savester,
You're _assuming_ everyone remembers to off-load their media, you're assuming everyone knows exactly what media they want to access at a given time and you're assuming 256GB is enough for them. You're making lots of assumptions which do not necessarily reflect how people use their phones.

RZ,
That and, for many people, a smartphone literally replaces a computer and is their primary "computing" device. A computer is a secondary tool to them. That's if they even have a computer. Some people do with a phone and just a tablet.
