"I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true."

“I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true and I would ask questions about them and talk about them and that is absolutely what I regret,” she said Thursday, wearing a “Free Speech” mask. “If it weren’t for the Facebook posts and comments that I liked in 2018, I wouldn’t be standing here today and you couldn’t point a finger and accuse me of anything wrong, because I’ve lived a very good life that I’m proud of.”

we need to get to the bottom of this and find out just who allowed this to happen!

the poor dear... can you imagine!!?? ...being allowed to believe things that aren't true and being powerless to do anything about it...

Lame excuses. Pathetic attempt to rewrite history.

I guess I might be in trouble for liking all those cat videos…

Poor baby. Bullying victims of a school shooting wasn’t her fault - she was just acting on what she was allowed to believe.

What a POS.

She says she stopped believing untrue things in 2018.

Ask her who won the last Presidential election.

“I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true..."

WTH! So she had to get permission to believe things that weren't true? Who the heck did she get permission from? And getting permission is about something you want to do but aren't sure if you can and then some authority says, "it's okay, go ahead and do it". So her framing this in a "I was allowed" frame is tacit admission that she wanted to believe those things were true. What does that say about her?

“If it weren’t for the Facebook posts and comments that I liked in 2018, I wouldn’t be standing here today and you couldn’t point a finger and accuse me of anything wrong, because I’ve lived a very good life that I’m proud of.”

I'd love to see Democratic representatives get up one by one and ask her if she now rejects what she liked __________ (fill in the blank with one example of shameful things she has liked). Make her explicitly reject each one. And I'd like the last few questions to be about when she liked calls for violence against members of the very chamber they are standing and sitting in. And then Pelosi asks her if she thinks liking those things is what a person who has lived a good life would do?

The forum will police itself. As far as her dropping her asshattery "Since I have been elected to Congress" is nonsense.

Let her live the BS she's spewing now; show Congressional colleagues that she truly means what she's said about changing her ways of thinking, and then let them review her case. Whatever forced her to believe things that weren't true hasn't gone away. She's still trying to accuse others for her own distorted reality.

She does not belong in any position of power.

Wait a minute! I didn't click the link to the story when I first scanned this thread. Is this the MT Greene dipstick we're talking about???? Based on the first couple of posts I thought it was some other naive ignoramus who was at the Capitol party. Then I figured it out after reading S. Pupp's post referring to the school shootings. Jeeeeezus.

The House is voting on stripping her of committee assignments right now. So far only 2 or so GOP reps have voted to sanction her, but it looks like all the Dems will, so this will pass.
Its unprecedented that her own party would not take care of this.

Edit 11 Republicans have voted to sanction her. Sad but better than zero.
