Device to poke keys on keyboard?
#1
Anybody know of a mechanical (electromechanical, I guess) device that you could put near a keyboard, and it would repeatedly poke a key on the keyboard?

Thanks

no. but was there one in herbie hancock's rockit video? Or the movie Brazil?
I bet there are utilities to send the USB equivalent, though.
And I thought Edison invented this, but for a telegraph.

It's called an "intern."

I think it might be politically incorrect to use "intern" and "poke" in the same thread

I'll need to check the Mac Resource Style Manual

It appears you need a solenoid of some type and a controller to trip it at the proper interval

Do you have an IKEA near to you? Ever seen their displays showing how they do longterm tests on beds and chairs? Ask to borrow one. Of course it might demolish the keyboard at the first hit but after about a week you should have 'instant keyboard', just add water.

Do you actually want to accomplish something?

I know its software but take a look at QuicKeys

You know, I actually thought about one of those dunking bird things, but they only dunk into a cup of water....

I need a mechanical device; software isn't suitable.
