I am only 1/2 way thru part 1. It gets tedious. It's like you are a fly on the wall.
Its interesting to see the birth of a song like "Get Back" George is really burnt out, and wants to say a lot more..

Just finished Part 3.
What a joy. Most illuminating moment: George talking to John and Yoko about wanting to do a solo album just to clear his backlog of songs. They both encourage him to do it. John says they could do stuff on their own and still be Beatles and do stuff as a group. If only they had followed through with that.

Yeah Linda’s daughter Heather. The kid is like WTF is that???? And then (spoiler) she is shown doing her own screech into the mic and someone (John?) makes a joke like, “Yoko?”
As a fan there several what ifs. What if McCartney hadn’t dragged them into this project? He was clearly wanting them to move “beyond” records, which is curious since records are all he did as a solo artist. What if the artificial timeline wasn’t there, which surely contributed to George leaving? The interactions between Lennon and McCartney were fascinating. Both insanely smart and talented and yet different personalities that knew how to work well together. I liked seeing the noodling that begat the songs. Kept wanting to say to them, “No, this is how that song goes.” |
