How are people liking the TouchID key on the newer Apple keyboard?
#1
Apple has a keyboard now with TouchID - https://www.apple.com/us-edu/shop/produc...black-keys

Does it allow users to switch to their account just by scanning their finger, or do they still need to select which account first?

Is this as good as the touch ID on the iPhones?

Worth the $200 if switching between users on a regular basis?

I love it on my MBP M1. Works flawlessly for me. I haven't used it for user switching, can't answer that.

OK I have a M1 MBP as well, so I am pleased with the operation of it there. Just wondering if I could expect the same on the external keyboard, which I suppose I should.

Also did a bit of research about user switching, and it seems that if you have multiple users already logged in, then YES you can switch directly by pressing the ID button.

It's so good that I get upset when I use a different Mac without Touch ID.

Really like it on my MBA. There was some chatter about face ID coming to Macs, hope that doesn't happen.

Have the external kb for about a year now, and it's flawless. Highly recommend if you have lots of passwords (and who doesn't anymore) in their workflow.

I have it on my MacBook Pro M1 and it works for a couple days and then quits. Maybe a dry hands problem.

You're asking at a uber Mac addict site how people like a Mac product.

I'm thinking people will love it.
