I need reliable info from a forum, or whatever, on Tesla cars (not geared toward stock, etc.).
Do Teslas currently come with a level one charger? If new ones come with one, I would assume used ones bought from Tesla would also come with one? I know level 2 would be a good idea anyway, but just curious.
Also, how does their level 2 charger connect to power? Does it just have wires or connectors to go straight to the breaker box, or does it plug into an outlet? If it plugs into the outlet, what type of plug? I don't see anywhere they give detailed info on this.

They used to include the Mobile connector (charger) for free until last year, but you have to order it separately now.
It will charge at either level 1 (~5 miles/hour) or level 2 (~30 miles/hour). It comes with both a standard 110 plug adapter or a 220v 14-50 plug adapter.
I have charged at level 1 for the first 8 months and level 2 for 4 years now.. I had an electrician run a level 2 line from the breaker panel to the garage for about $500.
Tesla also sells a more permanent wall connector for I think $450, that will charge at the same rates. I didn’t bother to get that.

As said below, you now need to purchase the charging plug, that has attachments for both level 1 (just a regular outlet) and level 2 (a dryer plug). For the level 2, you will have an electricial run a line from your electrical box to where you want the plug (garage most likely) where they will install a NEMA plug (the same one your dryer runs off). Then you just plug in the Tesla charger and you good to go.

I’ve had my model Y for 13 months. Mine came with a charger which I have used maybe twice. You only get 4-5 miles for hour charging. I also have a J adaptor which allows me to use level 2 chargers in public places. The amount of charge you get there varies from maybe only 8 miles/hour up to sometimes 15-20. For home charging (about 90%) of the time for me I use a Tesla wall charger which I got for free from my sister. They now cost about $400. I had an electrician wire it in and I get maybe 35-40 miles/hour of charging which I do at night per my time of day metering. My electrician only charged me $135 dollars since my box is right next to where I mount the charger in my garage. On trips of course we use superchargers which really are fast and easy.
I get info from a local Facebook group and also TeslaMotorClub as mentioned by someone else. I also frequent the Reddit Tesla Model Y group as well.

A car enthusiast friend of mine sold me his extra Gen 2 Wall Connector for $150 and also threw in a J connector in case I ended up buying a non-Tesla EV (I hadn't actually bought the car at that time)
The wall connector Tesla is currently selling for $425 is Gen 3
My garage install was going to be labor intensive due to the distance from the breaker box and limited / tight attic access and the long run of wire required - my electrician charged $1200 for that install
But it was well worth it as I'm getting 45 miles per hour when charging with the gen 2 wall connector

I was barely squeaking by on Level 1 charging.
I don't work Fridays and was using that down time to "catch up" and get the battery back to 80%. I don't drive a lot, maybe 50 miles a day.
I was going to wait until I got my Rivian to do level 2 (I ordered a wall charger with it). But it's still at least 8 months away, so I found a reasonably-priced charger and had a 60 amp circuit run to the garage and hard-wired it in.
Now I get 48 amps of LII charging and it is more than enough. I only need to charge once every few days.
I think the Tesla chargers will do 80 amps (on a 100 amp circuit). My car will only take 48 amps max on LII.

This is good stuff, thank you. I still wonder whether the car we ordered will have a
level 1, so maybe I'll have to contact someone. I just don't want to get it and have no way to charge it.
We've gotten by with a 100mi range and level one for a few yrs. except for short trips to McCall ID and Sun Valley ID. There actually are no chargers between or in McCall, so having the charger that can go with the car and do level 1 or level 2 would actually be best. I don't need the fastest charging, but level 2 would be good for home.
If it comes with a slow charger, adding the more permanent 450.00 one would then make sense. I have all the stuff to add a 220v where I need it, and the wiring is already there.
So it might come with an adapter to use chargers that aren't Superchargers? I need to look again at the website, I guess (I couldn't find anything but the 450.00 one).
Oh, there are several NEMA "dryer plugs". I can't remember which I have.

It won't come with any charger, as mentioned above Tesla stopped including that sometime in 2022
It will come with:
A Type C/F (220 – 240 V) adapter is included as standard equipment with all new Tesla cars. This provides approximately three to five kilometers of range per hour of charge depending on the car.
Note this is an adapter only - there will be no cord or anything else included
