Enrique Tarrio, three other Proud Boys found guilty of seditious conspiracy
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/proud-boys-...l-verdict/

Washington — The one-time president of the far-right Proud Boys group Enrique Tarrio and three subordinates were convicted of numerous felonies including seditious conspiracy for their roles in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.

A federal jury in Washington, D.C. found Tarrio, Ethan Nordean, Zachary Rehl and Joseph Biggs guilty of conspiring to prevent the peaceful transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden and using force and prior planning to hinder the 2020 presidential election certification.

There was no verdict for Dominic Pezzola on the most serious charge, seditious conspiracy, but he was found guilty along with the others of obstruction of a official proceeding.

All five were found guilty of obstructing Congress.

They now likely face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the Proud Boys leaders viewed their fortunes as increasingly tethered to Trump’s in the 2020 election, and they were ecstatic when Trump invoked the group — telling it to “stand back and stand by” — during a presidential debate that fall. His comments drove a recruitment boom for the Proud Boys, who struggled to vet incoming group members.

After Trump’s defeat in the November election, the Proud Boys quickly became cheerleaders for his false claims the election was stolen and viewed his departure from office as an existential threat to themselves and their group. When Trump urged supporters to descend on Washington to pressure Congress to block Biden’s election — “Be there. Will be wild,” Trump famously tweeted — that’s when Tarrio and his allies decided to violently oppose the transfer of power, prosecutors say.

It took almost 2 1/2 years to see justice done for these traitors. I hope their example deters other wanna-be traitors, but I don’t think everyone will make the connection.

Justice, true justice, is painstaking and deliberative. Swift justice can easily be dismissed as a rush to judgement, which is far from the message that needs to be sent. Pound that message home. I would hope that it will be learned finally, but I have my doubts.

They'll be pardoned once a Republican president takes office.

I suffer no delusions they will get that.

I'd be surprised but happy, to see them get anything in double digits.

How can that be prevented?

If they die in prison.

I have no idea if it can be prevented, and my feeling is, aside from my offering, that it can't.

Don't allow a Republican to be elected in 2024. By 2028, these fools will be forgotten by most of the public and no President will want to bring this sordid history back up.

Wonder how they all feel about their Dear Leader now. You know, the one who incited them to come to Washington, D.C. and Fight for Freedums!

You can bet that he cares about them…

A lot of people are saying PAB45 will forget about them... They can't contribute to the campaign from prison; besides, PAB45 only likes winners who don't get caught!
