If you are within hailing distance of TN or SC this coming weekend, it's tax free from Fri through Sun. In TN the limit is $1500. In SC there's no limit. Other states have the same deal, of course. An Apple employee in AL suggested that ordering a computer for delivery later to one of the physical stores would allow somebody to get the tax free deal and also avoid crowds. I'm gonna talk to my wife about trading in her M1, giving her my M2 and me buying a 15 inch. She's not interested in a bigger Macbook but I am--they're very cool!
