I ordered a book, some garden hose washers, and some adhesive-backed foam a few days ago. They were shown shipped with the same tracking #. Today, a package arrived that was big enough to have held all three items, but the label was sloppily applied, and it looked like the package had been opened. Inside was a set of drinking straws. How do I deal with this at Amazon? The only options I see are for returning the items, but the only item I have is one I didn't order. Any advice?

Call them. First check that your name is on the shipping label.
I had my box delivered to the neighbor and hers to me.

I'll use the CS phone # next time. Chat was pretty painless, but took 30 minutes, mostly waiting. Got a full refund. I have a pack of multi-color straws that I get to keep.

I always use the chat function, it seems to go faster and you have a written record in case things go awry.

I always call.
It's all outsourced, but the reps are always friendly, knowledgable, and helpful.
A big plus is that their English is always good, and that's not a given with most any other outsourced rep I've had to deal with.
I've never really had to 'make my case' with an issue, but there's no doubt it would be more successful on the phone, so that's how I roll.

Sometimes Amazon's packing bots mess up. Last year I received a pair of thigh high fishnet stockings with sequins. The package was addressed to me, so it wasn't a case of misdelivery. Not even close to anything I ordered, but none of the things I actually did order went missing, so I didn't do anything about it.
Still in the package, if anyone wants them . . .
