Judge benchslaps Trumps attorney - 14 times in a day
#1
Only the best....

US District Judge Lewis Kaplan overseeing E. Jean Carroll's defamation suit rebuked Trump's attorney Alina Habba from the bench, often schooling her in basic law in mini-lectures that showed mounting impatience.

At one point, the judge tersely interrupted the lawyer, telling her to "sit down."

Throughout the day, Kaplan hit her 14 times over basic court procedures.

Edit - corrected Judge Kaplans name on second reference

Who's Happa? Looks like a typo for Habba, but for that context, Kaplan makes more sense.

Overheard TV comment concerning Habba: You get what you pay for.

'...where Carroll hopes a federal jury will hit Trump with monetary damages high enough to finally "make him stop" defaming her.'

I wonder if that's even possible.

None of his lawyers can control him.

As long has he thinks his making noise about it curries support from his MAGAts, I'd expect he keeps mouthing off.

I heard there are other women who claim similar things. Why are those trials on hold?

This might have been comical to watch if it weren't such a pathetic display by a licensed lawyer.

Wouldn't be surprised if Trump told her to throw the game so he could claim incompetent representation. Probably promised her a judgeship.

The 26 women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct

..."Every woman lied when they came forward to hurt my campaign," the Republican presidential nominee said during a 2016 rally. "Total fabrication. The events never happened. Never. All of these liars will be sued after the election is over."

None were. But only two have sued Trump, and one of them is currently beating him and his lawyers silly.

The deal is, Donald Trump has gotten away with all kinds of shit through his entire life, and he's rarely if ever been fully called on it.

So yeah, there's a big lake - an ocean, maybe, of bad behavior behind that dam.

Will that dam ever break?

:dunno:

But it seems like it's starting to crumble.
