Anybody else find it depressing that...

We're already pondering who Trump will pick for his running mate.

It's a done deal for the 2024 general election and it's still January.

I really thought Republicans would at least give somebody else a look.

But no. Here we go.

And those rich people at Davos Switzerland are already putting out statements that they're not worried about another Trump term. "Bark worse than bite" stuff

God help us.

I'm excited. We can expect the end of these horrible wars, secure borders and relief from inflation and high interest rates. Finally back to a world that respects the USA as the greatest power on Earth

After reading "Winners Take All" by Anand Giridharadas, which woke me up about Davos, I fart in their general direction.

It’s just horse-race coverage.

Reporters love it when Trump speaks. It makes for an outrageous headline, and there’s so much to debunk.

Actually, I see it as a good thing.

The hoping against hope and hoping the Republicans thrashing about as if they’re going to actually grow a spine and really take a stand against Trump and his very real threat to the future of this country can be put in a box now. The full focus put on mounting the absolute best marshaling of all our forces imaginable.

No more waiting to see. Let the moment be now. This is do or die. A loss is the beginning of what could well be the last stand of this country as we know it.

Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more…

In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect…

Trump got them exactly what they wanted. The crumbling of Roe v Wade. Their #1 ambition. I hate when news stories ask the question "Why do Evangelicals support Trump?" He's the new Jesus.

The WEF rich people remind me of nothing more than the German business people who thought they could cut deals with Hitler. They, too, were fools.

When I heard that the Koch brothers were supporting Haley, I thought maybe the dark money would go to defeat Cheeto. But apparently not.

Apparently the rich won't mind living in a fascist country.
