Unable to save "pdf" file
#1
Makita Support emailed an instruction manual. Good; it's full of important info. Want to save the file, but cannot.

Doing a SaveAs on my iMac produces nothing. I'm doing something wrong.

The first time I tried to save the file, the destination folder showed an image followed by htmsomething, with the advice that it "couldn't be saved."

The display in the email that brought the file shows the small red square with the Adobe Acrobat logo. Name of the file appears next to the Adobe logo with the words Instruction Manual.pdf

Any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks!

is the PDF actually part of the email or is it linked/embedded and thus not actually an attached file? If it is just a link, can you share the link?

The pdf appears to be part of the email; I found no separate link

As the file seems to be part of the email, I see no separate file icon…

Embedded. Drag it to the Desktop from the message window.

The file says "412.26 KB 1 file attached, 1 embedded image"

After dragging it to the desktop, it pops right back. It does not stay on the desktop.

Couldn't attach screen shot, but here's what it says: First info on the file says: "image001.png," and "412 KB, 1 file attached, 1 embedded image," and info in the small rectangle with the Adobe log says "LS10… al.pdf 407 KB"

PM me if you want and I will give you my email address if you're willing to forward the email to see if I can make any sense of it.

Can you view the pdf?

Sometimes I can use Cmd-Shift-S to save a pdf I'm viewing.

Often I have to this when Save doesn't work and there's no Save as... option.

Other times there is the row of five icons in the email -

Download <—

Other times, two fingers on the trackpad bring up window from which I select Download.

I have no idea if any of these apply in your case.

I may be misremembering, but on one occasion I think I had to turn off my VPN to download a pdf.

right click and try to open with ColorSync Utility.
If that works, then print to .pdf
