House ethics committee reverses itself, will release Gaetz ethics report

Dunno why they’ve changed their mind - maybe because Gaetz was pretty much an asshole and universally hated, and he’s no longer on Trump’s short list for anything.

In response, perhaps, Republicans (urged on by Trump) released a report recommending the FBI prosecute Liz Cheney because of mumble-mumble-January-6-committee.

I hope Biden does not pardon Cheney preemptively (and I kinda doubt she’d seek one) cause she did nothing wrong.

Until we actually see what's in the released Gaetz ethics report we won't know.
I'll await word on whether that report actually has all the same information that our Representatives who worked on and viewed it prior to the election know should be on there.

I'm expecting something heavily redacted to "protect the privacy" of people involved.

In all fairness, we don't vote on it, so there's no real need for us to know what an ethics investigation turns up on an elected or appointed politician.

If it was any of our business, we would have known already.

Well, the other possibility, which apparently was being whispered about, is that it was about to be leaked so maybe they figured, It'll reflect less badly on us if we are the ones releasing it.

Heard some R's warn darkly that If they can do this to poor Matt Gaetz, well, by golly we should release every ethics investigation.
