Jeff Lorber, Grammy winning keyboardist and producer, loses his home and studio in Palisades
#1
This really sucks. He and his wife, along with a couple cats, escaped intact. Don't know if he was able to save any of his extensive collection of vintage keyboards or his studio equipment. Hope he at least saved his masters.

Lorber is well know in the music industry as a jazz fusion pioneer with a dozen albums released under The Jeff Lorber Fusion and another dozen or so as a solo artist. Additionally he has produced many other albums for a variety of artists and is a much sought after studio musician. He's been nominated several times and won a grammy in 2018 for his album Prototype.

Dammit

That does suck. Just got finished hearing about Chris Shiflett's (Foo Fighters) home being destroyed in Altadena. He lost just about everything too.

SO many musical artists lost their homes in these fires.

Found this google doc that lists LA musicians affected. Approaching 400. Tragic.

It’s really terrible. I understand why people live there, especially musicians but I still think it’s too chancy. I remember years ago when they were having disastrous mud slides some music people I knew lost homes and personal studios. At the time I thought it’s really sad and it’s probably not the last time for them. Sorry it became true.
