All I gotta say is thank GOD for trump's trade war!

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/10/investing...index.html

Stocks plunged Monday, continuing a steep selloff driven by concerns about the impact of President Donald Trump’s tariffs on economic growth.

All three major indexes were sharply lower Monday after Trump said the US economy would see “a period of transition” and refused to rule out a recession, in an interview that aired Sunday.

When asked on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo” if he was expecting a recession this year, Trump said “I hate to predict things like that. There is a period of transition because what we’re doing is very big.”

The Dow sank by 860 points, or 2%, Monday; the broader S&P 500 dropped by 2.8% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite plummeted 4.3%.

That’s funny.

I can see where a transition might make sense, but it requires trust to believe that is what he’s up to, and I don’t think in any way he deserves our trust.

I tend to think he’s tearing things down so he can build things back up the way he wants to, which won’t be to our advantage. I have come to realize those who voted for him often think they are on his team so he will be loyal to them, but we know loyalty is not part of his personality.

The worse thing you can think is that he is stupid. He has a plan, and he is very good at making things happen.

Most people here seem to suggest he’s simply stupid and doesn’t know what he’s doing. I don’t know what the answer is myself. I am trying to make sense of it. At the moment I lean toward he’s doing the bidding of Russia and China on purpose to tank things.

I have come to believe that it's not so much that he is stupid. It's that he is impulsive and very easy to manipulate (also fundamentally selfish and willfully misguided, along with the rest of maga conservatives.) He knows less than nothing about macroeconomics; these strategies are being made by his handlers, and they do not seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Fundamentally,

I think he’s stupid.

He’s always been stupid. He also happens to have become more megalomaniacal too (if that’s even possible for him).

It's my fault. I lump-summed my IRA in January. Every time I do that, the market takes a dump for the year. I should know better.
