Elmo is paying to ratf*ck WI Supreme Court election
#1
What a guy.

What a busy, busy guy.

A group backed by billionaire Elon Musk is behind a set of deceptive attack ads and text messages targeting voters just weeks ahead of the election for a seat on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, employing a battleground state strategy it used last year against Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris

The ads are labeled as coming from a group called Progress 2028 and are made to look like authentic messages of support for Dane County Circuit Judge Susan Crawford, who is backed by Democrats. They describe her as a “progressive champion” who will “stand up for immigrants,” defend Planned Parenthood and promote a justice system that gives criminals “second chances.”

Of course, these are directed toward conservative voters to try to get them all riled up.

But records show the ads that appear on Facebook and Instagram and in text messages to some voters are underwritten by Building America’s Future. That’s a national conservative group that counts Musk among its biggest donors, a Wall Street Journal report revealed.

They had to “reveal” it, because you know, it infringes on first amendment rights of billionaires if they can’t make unlimited dark money political donations anonymously.

Anyway, the election - between Crawford, an experienced and pro-choice judge, and Brad Schimel a mysogenistic jerk a fine conservative who supports bringing back the 1847 law that prohibits abortion in WI without exceptions, Schimel was the state AG under Scott Walker, but thrown out by the electorate, so of course Walker appointed him to his first and only judgeship on the circuit level. If he manages to get on the state Supreme Court on April 1, he will flip the current 1 vote liberal majority on the court to conservative.

So of course Elmo is pulling the strings and funding fake ads, in a “nonpartisan” state judicial election.

That’s just Elmo being Elmo.

What a guy.

More missed Musk-isms…

Notes Paul Krugman:

What about those Tesla protests? According to Musk, they aren’t a response to his Nazi salutes and the chainsaw DOGE has been taking to crucial public services. In his mind they’re a conspiracy organized by five people, three of whom happen to be Jewish and two of whom happen to be dead:

That’s rich - the guy that staged fake million-dollar-a-day giveaways to pretend-average-joe-conservatives to get Trump elected, and is now secretly ratf*cking state-level supreme court races, complaining about campaign finance violations.

Sounds too Christ-like.

Conservatives will hate it.

I said it before he got his hands on the government and it's even more true now: the world would be a better place if Mvsk just died. Heart attack, boating accident, whatever, just die.

If he keeps f'ing around with the FAA, it would be fitting if he ends up dying in a plane crash.

(I'm sad that this is my attitude, but it really has come to this.)
