The suspected shooter has been found dead. No idea of a reason (other than Northern Idaho)

Seems more likely that the arsonist/murderer had some axe to grind with the FD. It's beyond belief that someone would lure firefighters - of all the possible targets for someone with an axe to grind - into an ambush unless they had something against that system. Maybe the murderer wasn't given a job as a seasonal or something, maybe some firefighter pizzed him off once upon a time. Maybe he was just crazy and wanted to "do something big". Not sure I'd paint the entire area with the crazy brush, though they do like their freedums left alone. (as do we all)

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
— The suspect who police believe killed two firefighters Sunday after starting a brush fire in Idaho wanted to pursue a career as a firefighter himself, his grandfather told CNN. |
