I finally got 'hal' back online even though I screwed up the process
#1
I tried really hard to screw it up, but I somehow made it here...

I assumed that my old user, 'hal' would never make it since it had a 4 character password and an old, dead email address attached.

But I contacted troy and told him my old username, the current one I was using and a working email address that I'd like to associate with 'hal'. A while later (a couple of days maybe? I got his response on the 4th), I found a message on the 'halbert' account from troy saying that all was well - just go through the PW reset. I did that, but then I realized that the email I gave troy to associate with 'hal' was the same that I used for 'halbert'. The PW reset wouldn't work.

Too embarrassed to go straight back to troy for help, I reset the email address associated with 'halbert'... was told that an email would come to finalize it. It didn't come. Tried again, it didn't come. Checked spam - not there. Gave up for the time being...

Then, the next day... just kinda blindly staring at my Macos Mail app I realized that each email address has its own spam folder - the 2nd email address I used has never rec'd any spam, so there was no folder... until now. I opened it and there were two messages from OWC.

Anyway... moral of the story is that Troy can fix anything if you give him time and some patience. Thanks troy!

I assumed your four digit password didn't work because troy has stated that passwords weren't transferred over.

There's been one post that didn't mention having to change their password.

Mine was a permissions problem experienced by several here.

Also, the time between the last email from troy to trying to enter with the temorary password took a lot time.

I think I as out of sync with reset attemps and temporary passwords.

But troy came through and treading carefully, I got in before Cerberus knew it.

Thanks for the spam folder reminder hal, I was able to get wave-rider registered properly. Now to get wave rider back in action…  Cool
