Is this a good deal? Akai 27" HD LCD TV

Saw this as a side deal on Woot for $299. It's $675 at Amazon.

I'm not sure I want a TV this small but I'm wondering how they can offer it so cheaply and I'm trying to resist buying one.

How can they be so cheap? It is a factory refurbished model that is being closed out. Shop.com has the refurb for $310. It is about $550 for new on Froogle. Edit: Sorry, the Shop.com link leads to the eCost entry.

I had a bad experience with refurbs a couple of years ago. A printer and a UPS both became unusable about 40 days after I bought them.

I like that at the price but it would have to be right in front of me. I do not have the space here in the basement.

Well being a 27" it couldn't really be all that far away from you either.
