Trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on a MBP(again).
#1
So, the deal on the previous MBP fell through and it left me with a couple of thoghts:

First: $1000 is alot of money. $1600 is even more.

The current deal is $1100 for a Core Duo with Apple Care.

It's tempting but that doesn't change the fact that it's alot of money.
I could hold off till I buy a car around december/november till I get the MBP but it'd be very nice to have for some summer programming stuff I'm doing. There again though is the cost.

Advice?

Actually, I'm at work now.

I'll be going for a hike though once I'm done, before I bike home to go swimming with my friends.

Save your money and wait till you have enough for a Core 2 Duo. If you buy the Core Duo (at any price) you will just regret it later.

Will getting the car sooner help you get more work hours and earn more money sooner?

Any chance of getting a job that pays you to use a MBP?

Getting the car sooner isn't practical as when school starts for me(in August) I'll have use of my Sister's car.

My current job may contribute to me getting a MacBook Pro, but I'm not sure how likely it is. I'll have to see how things pan out.

Currently there is a listing on Craigslist for a 17 Inch MBP for $800. It's very tempting.

I would strongly suspect that any of those Too Good To Be True prices really are Too Good To Be True, but it doesn't hurt to dream, just don't get scammed.

Also:

I still have yet to see any serious evidence that the Core 2 is 100% necessary.
The plain Core Duo should do what I want it to.
