I think that there was a period when we were flooded with SPAM about deals from said company. They probably solved the problem by banning that word.

Ching, ching, Ztirffritz has the correct answer. When the spammie spammers were running rampant, key words from their headlines were banned to cut down on the number of spam posts that got through. Unfortunately I don't have a list of the seven words that you can't use on the MacResource Forum. (small tribute to George Carlin there)
