Saw both this weekend at the REAL LIVE theaters.
Evan Almighty.
It was so light hearted and good natured. It seemed like only 30 minutes went by. Great kid flick. But they mention an animals penis trivia twice. Odd. The ending credits are fun. Steve Carell is good with scripts like this. I've never seen nosehairs so close up on the screen. We'll have to take our kids to see it next. John Goodman is going to DIE if he does not lose weight.
Ratatouille
I'm not sure who the target audience is for this. All the kids in the theater were wandering about. Not in the least bit interested in the characters. They had to decide whether to have an animal scene or a human scene. That is, it's either in human mode where they ignorant boy chef is mucking about, or the rat mode, where he's trying not to dislike/fear humans. The scenery is MAGNIFICENT. But, they did not give any good parts to the Sous chef, or other characters. I'm not sure what ethnicity the female chef was supposed to be. The accent was all over the place. The head chef reminded me of smeagol? I can't say that there was one good belly laugh from the audience on this one. One of my lower rated Pixar films.
