I kinda like the Buick Lucerne...

And, I'm not close to 50 years old!

The weird design elements are the AARP styled front grille while the rear looks to attract the VW Passat crowd. Strange bit of cross-demographic design, that.

I'm not very close to 50 either, but I think I'm on the OTHER side of it.

After Studebaker closed, my Dad moved to Buicks and loved them. Had small town dealer who knew how to take care of him. His Electra went to one of the Grandkids when we broke up the estate.

I've noticed the Lucerne but am not in the market right now.

I have noticed a couple of Lucernes that turned my head in the last month. Nice, conservative design.

I agree: it's a good looking car. I notice them when I'm in traffic. I hope GM sells a lot of them. From what I've read, they are nice in other important ways too.

My dad was a Buick man because he did not like the status thing of driving a Cadillac in the fifties. Now I am a Buick cult member because they are so reliable. Love those V6 3800's. Been around forever. Powerful and pretty good mileage. My Park Avenue had one and was running great at 195,000 miles when I let it go. Now 1999 Regal has one and mileage is not good in short trips but very powerful, no supercharger.

Buick rocks!

Funny - I just back from lunch withmy brother-inlaw and we pulled up behind one at the light and he
commented that he had driven one last week while out of town on business.

I asked him how he liked it (he's a car guy) and his review was "it drives mushy"

My folks just got a Buick Lucerne, gave me their 91 Century that still runs OK. I agree, Buicks are really good cars! I don't know why tho..

I had one as a rental in FL. Would never buy one, the ride is too mushy and emergency handling isn't confident. The car floats down the highway and not in a good way. I would hate to drive one in bad weather.

Ditto (except I was in CA). Appearance-wise, it is definitely a step forward for Buick -- gotta dig the speed holes.
