I wouldn't trust what the state of montana says about Japanese automakers.

Partners since the 1960's, owned by Toyota since 1999. News to me.

MT = Motor Trend ?

Companies sharing a production facility is hardly something novel or new..
Toyota's got a bunch of weird "partnerships".

that they do, it seems. I never really looked into it that much.

Mazda, honda and ford all had the same truck for a while. I had a mazda and a ford side by side in 2 of my bays at Jiffy Lube, and one of the owners didn't believe that he paid 3 grand more for his Honda-badged one, and got less of a warranty.

Mitsubishi and Crysler partnered way back in the 70s, and Suzuki/Fuji and Toyota partnered with GM back in the 80s.

yeah, well sorta, I think you've mixed some details, there. But specifically that was the first I heard that Toyota BADGE ENGINEERED a car. That is a taboo practice the anti-US contingent always alludes to, at least.

Honda Pilot and Isuzu Trooper I believe were the same SUV for a while.
Mazda PU and the Ford Ranger were the same.
Mazda Tribute and the Ford Escape are the same.

It was 2 pickups once, and another time it was 2 of those newfangled SUVs. (early 90's) The Trooper came as a diesel, and the Honda didn't. that was another thing that ticked off the Honda owner.

I also had an '86 Toyota Corolla wagon next to an '86 "Nova". Same frickin' car.

Are there any websites that list each brother-sister combo like these?
