#1
sigh?

i guess when your web site needs more hits you just throw this up?

"hackers" are not doing it in 2007 cause its not on their calendars to do until 2008 -- they are just too busy now hacking other things right now...

sorry, no link, they dont deserve the hits...

If they can hack the iPhone they can hack the Mac. I don't doubt they'll try since both are getting considerable media attention relative to their respective market share. They real question is if they will succeed and how effective Apple's response will be.

Hasn't the iPhone been the target of hackers since the day it was introduced? All of the unlocking methods should be considered hacking. These days the word "hacker" seems to assume negative and destructive objectives, but that's not the only definition.

Hacking used to mean an external, unwanted intrusion. Now it seems to mean any mods made by anybody.

You're not going back far enough, this is what it used to mean.

1. A person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems and how to stretch their capabilities, as opposed to most users, who prefer to learn only the minimum necessary.
2. One who programs enthusiastically (even obsessively) or who enjoys programming rather than just theorizing about programming.
3. A person capable of appreciating hack value.
4. A person who is good at programming quickly.
5. An expert at a particular program, or one who frequently does work using it or on it.
6. An expert or enthusiast of any kind. One might be an astronomy hacker, for example.
7. One who enjoys the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming or circumventing limitations.
8. [deprecated] A malicious meddler who tries to discover sensitive information by poking around. Hence 'password hacker', 'network hacker'. The correct term for this sense is cracker.
