Anyone anticipating an iPod update @ MWSF?
#1
I'm doubting it, but was just curious. I recently sold a few iPods we have and now am considering an iPod classic ( 80GB ). I mean, I can wait 11 days, 23 hours, and 44 minutes to see what's what. But I was just curious as to opinions.

FWIW, the MacRumors Buyer's Guide puts the iPod classic in mid-product cycle.

Nope.

Supposed to be a software update to the Touch, and that iPhone SDK. I don't see how The Steve can go a keynote without something Poddish.

The new ultra-thin laptop might be sort of poddish....

no, but this is all over the mac news today:

http://gizmodo.com/339918/apple-docking-...im-macbook

This Apple docking station patent shows a screen base in which you can slide in a MacBook through its side. While this would be difficult to do with current MacBook models, it fits perfectly with the idea of the ultra-light, ultra-slim MacBook that allegedly will be presented at MacWorld. Basically, the patent shows an iMac-like unit with all the necessary ports and components, with a slot-loading right bay. The system works similarly to the old PowerBook Duo and its DuoDock base station, but vertically instead of horizontally.

I love this concept - of course, a lot depends on price and specs.

I never had one but knew a number of people who owned Duos back in the day. They all absolutely loved them.

There is an update that will likely apply to both the 'Phone and Touch-- 1.1.3, from the looks of it. That might be announced during the State of the iPhone Address, but that's small enough not to make the radar.

As for an update to the 'Pods-- Classic, nano, Shuffle, I doubt it.

I *would* like to see the Classic have a full screen menu option.

The UltraLight seems to be almost a foregone conclusion. If it materializes, I hope its not a tablet.

And I really, really want there to be something I am not at all expecting-- a revamped/improved AppleTV or a Cube II. Something tres cool.

I am hoping for an update for the iPod Touch. It seems that an IT professional journal has noted that Apple has been buying up the 64 gig flash memory modules. Now, that's what gives me some hope.

Apple to turn on 3G and Stereo Bluetooth, both of which are already incorporated in the iPhone but purposely crippled.
