I have had a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 AirStation for some time and it's worked fine until now. There was a recent power outage after which I have not been able to connect via airport. The router works fine via Ethernet and is sending a wireless signal (the proper light is blinking, five bars are showing in the Airport menu symbol, and the network connection is recognized under the old name). But there is no IP address and no connection to the net. I tried to reconfigure the router through default address (192.168.11.1) in the manual but there is no response from the router. Where to go from here? TIA

Did you try to configure it via wire or wireless---bet via ethernet. The default password is username is root and no password.
First I would hit and hold the reset button on the back.

I've reset the router with the reset button, as well as disconnecting the cable router and Airstation in the prescribed manner, and no Airport.
I am on with a wired connection through E'net, but the browser will not connect with the router on 192.168.11.1 to reconfigure. the router is sending out a clear wireless signal to Airport but no IP address.

two things I would try:
1-try to go to Keychain and in "System" and "Login" keychains, delete BOTH items for the buffalo station. Then when you try to connect again, save the password, it should get saved in both "login" and "system" keychains.
2-make a new "location".
well, I just thought of a 3rd option:
3-change the ID of the router.

Just a chance--try with Firefox instead of Safari
Restart the Mac also

I have seen that exact thing (FF) allow a Mac to ping a Buffalo when Safari would not. Same for rebooting.
