Heather Locklear Treated for Depression
'Melrose Place' star checks into Arizona facility

Heather Locklear has checked into a facility for treatment of depression.

The former " Melrose Place" and "Spin City" star is undergoing evaluation at a clinic in Arizona. Her publicist tells the celebrity mags that Locklear, 46, "has been dealing with anxiety and depression."

"She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment," publicist Cece Yorke says in a statement. "This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released."

In March, paramedics responded to Locklear's home after a 911 caller reported the actress was on the verge of a suicide attempt. Her rep said at the time that Locklear was "fine" and that no one in the house had placed the call.

Locklear recently completed work on a Lifetime movie called "Flirting with 40." Her other recent credits include another Lifetime flick, "Angels Fall," and guest appearances on " Hannah Montana" and "Rules of Engagement."

She is now pushing 47. Hollywood seems to be pretty unkind to women on the other side of 40, especially those that were once known for their looks. I think aging in front of the public and trying to maintain a career in a field that favors the young and fresh could cause anyone to be depressed.
