Finally turned on the A/C...
#1
Usually try and wait until the 4th of July before I turn it on. Today is shaping up to be a very hot, humid day.

We've been very lucky until now (except for the torrential rains of weeks past) because the air has been relatively dry and cool. Opening up the windows at night and running the ceiling fans worked very well until this morning.

Here in Iowa, when it warms up; it gets very sticky. Nothing new to you Resourcers in the Southeast.

84 will be the high today. No humidity so no A/C for us. We are conserving the energy and the $$$ for days of 100+

I have only a fan.

It has been on once so far this year.

It might be on again this weekend if that weather gets here and gets up into the upper 90s again.

It was 105 in Sacramento last Saturday, so yeah I used the AC. It'll be in the mid eighties today so it'll stay off.

I think I turned mine on in February or March. I cannot STAND to be hot. My thinking is, if its cold, you can always put MORE clothes on. If its hot, the opposite is NOT true.

Bazookaman, that is so true - I have the exact same reasoning about preferring cold to warm weather. However, my tolerance for heat is somewhat greater than yours.

Insulation = good; exposure = bad.

Yeah. I can be sitting in my 74 degree living room and be hot. Meanwhile the wife is dressed head to toe and covered in a blanket.

My outdoor thermometer reached 110 F during the heat wave about a week ago. It does not get direct sun, but it is on the south wall of the apartment.
