is it just me or, in the past week, have others been putting a whole lot of rarely-seen-before forum names on ignore?
there was a time i didn't visit over here much because i couldn't bear to be washing off slime that often. but in the past few months, i've found the discourse, for the most part, to be intelligent, thoughtful, and thought provoking. oh sure, there is sarcasm and the occasional bit of rather caustic vitriol, but it was manageable. this has changed in the last few days. or maybe my armor is wearing thin, i dunno.

I've got most of you know who's pseudonyms on ignore now so hopefully I won't be as reactive as I have been. That's really what he's looking for, some reaction, which is seen as an acknowledgment. Its fun to occasionally unload but it serves no purpose except to degrade the level of discourse. Don't want to see that happen here.

There's no purpose. Just an obstacle to walk around "Pardon me, just trying to get around you in the thread, here." Without supporting thought, what is there to engage? It's silly to engage someone whose words indicate xenophobia, racism, and ignorance...we all seriously have better things to do.

I think everyone is doing a commendable job of ignoring the kookbiscuit.
Graylock gives a good reminder for why responding may not be the best option-- you defeat the "ignore" for those not up to the kookiness.
Sometimes, though, there's unexpected comedic effect that makes it sort of bearable. Read this thread for example-- start at the beginning and read it down as if it were a book, without paying much attention to who the poster is. I had to laugh out loud when I started reading into "that one's" post.

How do you know it is the same person?
You bleeding liberal guys don't like opposing opinion at all. It is the same song, everytime someone with an opposing idea, question, or opinion posts on this side of the forum.
Many just PM each other instead of posting here at all, because of your attacks and nastiness. Haven't you noticed, that you guys just keeping having conversations with the same small group of people?
I frequent other forums where dialogue is encouraged and accepted, on politics.

Because of the identical paragraph formatting, the unsubstantiated nasty exaggerations, and the total lack of responsiveness.
