Something not right about Hillary "gunning" for SoS job

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081121/pl_n..._clinton_1

I've been following the coverage of Hillary's "vying" for the Secretary of State position, and something about this doesn't sit right.
Shouldn't she be sort of hanging back, appearing dignified and detatched, rather than workin' it? In a way I think her thirst for the primary nomination, as well parodied in the SNL follow-up, worked against her, and left Obama looking more 'presidential'-- feels like a repeat of the same too-eagerness.
Or am I simply a victim of inaccurate media spin in this case?

I guess I really feel there's something just not right about HC as SoS.
Some reasoning here:

But I'm not sure I can explain it-- it just ain't right.

Okay. I've used my monthly allotment of two click-throughs to the Huffington Post because of you guys. Now cut it out and use other links so I can follow along!

BL, FWIW I haven't felt Hillary has been gunning for the job. She's just more of a story than the other candidates for the position, therefore you hear about her more.

I wouldn't have a problem with Hillary or Hagel getting the position. Both would be a huge step up over some of the other names being mentioned as candidates in my opinion.

In the mornin' you go gunnin'
For the man who stole your water
And you fire till he is done in
But they catch you at the border
And the mourners are all singin'
As they drag you by your feet
But the hangman isn't hangin'
And they put you on the street

You go back jack do it again
Wheel turnin' round and round
You go back jack do it again

I think the Clinton's office released the original SoS info? didn't come from the Obama office and I have not heard anything from the BO's office concerning Hillary's consideration.

This was floated as a trial balloon on purpose - but for what purpose, I'm not entirely sure.

IMHO, HRC is too stuck with the rah-rah Israel side to make meaningful change in the middle east peace process or to be accepted by Arab countries as a neutral listener for the President.

Hillary wants to be in line for president.

Once in line, she only has to get rid of Biden, Pelosi and Byrd (the vice-president, speaker of the house and president pro tempore of the senate).

And she can do that just by reading Tom Clancy's Debt Of Honor.

If she's stil looking down the road at another Presidential run, then I see her going back to the Senate .

If she's looking down the road and seeing retirement or working more with Bill on his/thier projects then this might be a nice feather in her cap.

Certainly capable of doing either, If I had to put money on which fork in the road she took, I'd pick the Senate road. I wouldn't be surprised either way though.
