how things have changed...
#1
I was driving around this afternoon thinking about a song that caught my ear from an LL Bean commercial...

In the past if i heard a song on the radio or on the tv that i liked, it was too bad. Sure i could browse the tapes at the music store to see if something caught my eye. Maybe call the radio station. Ask around to see if anyone could identify what lyrics i heard. Could take days, weeks or even months. And in the end, i had a better chance of NOT finding it.

In the present...Google. Download from Amazon or ITMS. Total time=1 to 5 minutes.

And using the iPhone, Shazam, and iTMS, you could do it with a few taps while still in your car..

well maybe not the iTMS download part, but details aside, very cool..

Or, as the TV commercial that is playing now touts - hold your iPhone with this certain app to the music and it will tell you song name and where you can d/l it! Name of the app escapes me.

Great, now I'm going to have that darned song by the Submarines stuck in my head AGAIN for the next few hours.

Apple advertising really is an influential tastemaker in pop music today. Weird.

My son religiously buys every song featured in an Apple ad..

I rib him for being such a fanboy...
