I heard some rumors that another guy is gonna work on a project I was supposed to work on, but I could not start working on it yet since we have a big deadline coming soon and everyone is very busy now. I was really looking forward to this project. All this happened behind the scenes, there is no official announcement. and the structure is also weird, he's not reporting to who you would expect for that kind of job. No, he's not more experienced or qualified, I am, but it may be too late to change anything... I am gonna talk to CEO tomorrow. I am not sure how to approach things. despite the recession, I am tempted to start looking for another job. I am that pissed.

What would happen if you respected the management chain and went to your immediate supervisor, at least as a matter of decorum?
I don't know how large your company is but it sounds like you are contemplating political suicide.

In I's defense, I think I would also be hesitant to post about a work situation as "me." Especially since the thread originator probably posts from work and is used to the thought that the bored IT folks are following his forum posting career.

Having worked in IT for decades, we don't have time to get "Bored".
We receive monthly bandwidth reports and have to reconcile heavy usage to upper management.
Just like Phone Usage reports, we used to warn the hourly employees about spending seven hours on "MyBossSuXor.com".

Dunno, BGnR, I've got a friend in IT who's known for posting 10-page diatribes to various fora and lists on his pet topics when things get "slow."

You're alleged "Friend" is a slacker.
They should get rid of the dead wood.
All my billable hours are accountable.

He seems to make up for it by working 'round the clock for days on end when there's a crisis. My sense is that he's very well appreciated.

For your second post to the forum perhaps you could try for a more descriptive subject line... Have a look at some of the posts from NewtonMP2100 for an idea of something that might catch peoples attention...
