You know, there are already at least 2 ways to show the path in a Finder window without any hacks?

Click on the little icon with the three horizontal lines and the triangle. (If the icon is not there then right-click on the Window-toolbar and select "customize toolbar" to add it.)

Hold down the Command/Apple key and click on the window's title.

Neat little hack.

Also thanks Doc - I forget about the Apple/click trick.

You can also customize your Finder toolbar to put the pulldown "Path" in the tool bar.

None of those show it without extra clicking every single time you want to see it.

Unfortunately, this little trick only works for Leopard.
