Wow! What a great Craigslist Bargain week for me!!! Please don't hate me any more than you do now.

Early in the week I responded to a Craigslist add for a 24" Alu iMac 2.66 cut and paste specs pictured on a nice Home office desk listed for $400

The locations was an hour away so I was a bit unsure and the photo looked more like a 20" Alu.

I always make a VERY ernest effort to make sure anything I buy is not stolen.

I agreed I would buy it and drove down before anyone else could snag it, knowing that evan at $400 it would be a steal for a 20". It was a 20", in great shape with Box for $400!!! Yea--I know he 20" Alu has the marginal screen....but for $400!!!!

Then a couple days ago and iPhone was listed for $110. No Model or any other info. I first thought scam, but emailed anyway.
I just picked up a 16GB original iPhone with a perfect screen but some noticeable scratching on the Back side. It would have been a great deal for an 8GB and a smoking deal for a 16GB. Works perfect.

I guess my Mac karma was pretty good, but I have probably used it all up.

Please don't hate me!!!!

Agreed. You should share with me either item or lose your good Mac karma.

What steps, pray tell, do/did you take to ensure those were not stolen?
I would like to do the same with local CLers here, too.

I'd be interested in the details as well. How does one come to be selling a relatively recent purchase at such a fraction of what they paid?

I hate you only slightly less than before, but that was a lot!
