And when the kids googled "porn", this is what they got:
http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs...laims.aspx
I wonder if there's a way to track which children have been exposed to this link and make sure they get the counseling they need?

BTW-- googling "google" number 2??? That's like calling 411 and asking for the number to directory assistance . . .

My nephews spend hours online playing and seeking out Flash games. Not videos. Not sex. I've seen the logs.

Google and Yahoo always turn up in the top 2 slots for search terms on search engines. It's a running joke that MS won't publish the top queries from live search Bing because the number one slot is always "Google." That they put Yahoo at number 7 makes me very suspicious of the results.

...

Some people accidentally type addresses in the browser's search box.

A browser or DNS might route improperly typed addresses to a search engine.

Have they found Miniclip yet?

My two boys are into that flash game site. Same thing - for hours.

None, but I do find the results disturbing. That your child can have an entirely private online life... I feel sorry for parents nowadays.

Yes, I worry that they will never be successful in their intimate relationships like you are if they're exposed to this stuff at such a young age.

historically, almost all of humanity has lived on farms - and reproductive activities of all the animals are there all the time. So 99.99999% of humans have grown up seeing everything, from day one. You did not need the internet, just go do your chores and there it is all there, life in action.

Sex and porn don't really disturb me. Everyone does it or at least aspires to have sex. I fear exposing my child to violence. I find it so strange that people will take their child to a movie featuring tons of violence and not think anything is wrong with it, but if it has sex in it they freak out. Not many of us can claim to have beaten or killed someone, much less aspire to do so. Yet we allow kids to play games which glorify brutal violence and watch movies and TV shows that make it look glamorous.
