I'm still using Transmission which is nice and simple but it can really bog down if I get too many torrents going. Any other good clients that you like and why?
what is your favorite torrent client?

Transmission alive and well here... maybe the answer is to not have
too many torrents going? What's the max you are running simultanesously?

uTorrent works fine and is my current choice.
Fuze (aka Azureus) worked OK, but they are obviously trying to be more than BT client and each iteration tried to hide more the old BT tools.

Transmission. I have found that if I have too many torrents, sometimes the videos will get garbled. This is on a 2.4 C2D with 4 gigs of RAM, so I am not overloading the processors.

Transmission user here too. Sounds like you don't have your settings correct. You can set both upload and download number, bandwidth minimums and maximums, time of day, and I believe how many peers can connect to you.
Having those wonked up might be the cause of the slow downs... Jeff

Nobody else using Vuze (nee Azureus)?
I like it less and less with the recent changes but it gets the job done.

I had over 60 torrents going and I kept getting the spinning wheel of death. I couldn't force quit and had to restart the computer. This went on several times so I started from the install dvd and repaired the drive (no problems were found). I made sure I had the latest version of transmission but the problem persisted. So now I'm updating to snow leopard and will see how it goes after that.

60 torrents? My MBP C2D 2.4 with 4 gigs of RAM starts to bog down with about a dozen. Um, maybe you should keep it to a more reasonable number..............
