Whats your favorite recordings of a Hammond B3?
#1
Nothing sounds like a B3 and there have been some great recordings over the years of that sound. I've been thinking of collecting some favs for my iPod.

Just a few of my favs:

Gimme Some Lovin'
Roundabout
Keep Me Hangin' On (the Fudge version)
Soul Sacrifice
Green Onions
Burn - Deep Purple
Point Of Know Return - Kansas
Do You Know What I Mean & Stormy Monday -Lee Michaels
You Better Run - The Young Rascals
Brian Salad Surgery

and, of course, anything by Jimmy Smith

What do you guys like?

"The Jam" was the first LP I ever bought as a kid. That drum break in that was crazy, I bugged my parents for a Drum set because of that song, got one a year or so later and found out I didn't have "rhythm".

I just did a search on iTunes and I can't believe they DON'T have that song available. Plenty of Graham Central Station but that cut isn't available.

I know it's not the same thing, but, our keyboard at church emulates a Hammond B3. Sounds good. Easier to move too.
