Haven't watched the premiere yet (it's on DVR) but I saw here very recent HBO special. She's on fire. I love how she talks about her wife. Get used to it. ;-)

I start laughing just looking at her.
And get exhausted thinking about getting all that material together;
this is going to be a once-a week show? At least 25-30 minutes of pure standup in there- normally it would take a comic months to get enough funny stuff together for that amount of time.

Interesting person-- 100% "always on" type- I wonder if there's a 'sad clown' in there . . .

She a remarkably funny comedian. For the most part she's a creature of pay TV although she's been seen elsewhere. I think someone told me she has a show coming on the TV $tevie gets, the one with the wire hanging out the window.

I've mostly seen her as a late night talk show guest.
Watched the Larry David show on cable once at a friend's maybe 2 years ago-- that may have been my first exposure.
I think $tevie would like her, but I respect her decision to not have television in her life.

I know who Wanda Sykes is. I just don't see why I should know who she is, since we seem to be into acting ignorant about well-known TV personalities today.
