Authorities say Tiger Woods has been seriously injured in a car wreck in Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Woods hit a fire hydrant and a tree as he pulled out of his driveway early Friday in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle.

Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital. His condition was not immediately known, though the news release said his injuries were serious.

The highway patrol says the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending. However, the highway patrol said the crash was not alcohol-related.

How does one "pull out of a driveway" and wreck a Cadillac SUV to the point of serious injury???

I think it's only facial lacerations.

If you were to pull out of a long driveway into the road without stopping and looking you might suddenly find yourself needing to swerve to avoid someone.

I think I detect an implication in your post that having a "Cadillac SUV" should somehow protect a driver from bodily injury, but I'll give you credit for not being dumb enough to buy into the idea that a larger or extravagantly expensive vehicle is safer.

It happened like 2:30am...there have been rumors of him having an affair...

...who knows if he was in a rush or just not paying attention...foot slipped on/off the gas/brake.

Lets watch the reports filter down to the truth, probably in about 36 hours. Until then it'll be like the two NWA pilots who overshot the MSP airport: they were drunk; no, they were arguing; no they were sleeping ...no .. they were ... . The 60 second news cycle sucks a lot of the time.

For whatever reason I have grown very skeptical of any immediate or damning media report since the Richard Jewell Atlanta bombing fiasco.

Does idle speculation have no value????
