$130 Off!

Where have I been? Are they selling tin foil hats too (I didn't search)? Do these work?

Call me skeptical.

Looks link the link to my old sig is in my profile but it's obviously not available anymore since it links to the old forum. I don't see any way to create a new sig and there's nothing about it in the help area. Can anyone advise if this is possible and where it can be done?

THanks

....after private battle with cancer.....was in 'FBI: Most Wanted'.....'Nip/Tuck'.....'Charmed'.....

Julian McMahon, Nip/Tuck, Charmed and FBI: Most Wanted Star, Dead at 56

.....Julian McMahon, best known to TV audiences for his starring roles on FX’s Nip/Tuck and CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted, died July 2 following a private battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.

McMahon’s wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed his passing in a statement:

With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer. Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.

McMahon’s acting career began in 1989, with a role on the short-lived Australian soap opera The Power, the Passion. That was followed by a stint on Home and Away. He made his Stateside debut on another soap, NBC’s Another World, in 1993. That was followed by series-regular stints on NBC’s Profiler (as John Grant) and The WB’s Charmed (as Cole Turner).

His first leading role came in 2003, when he was cast opposite Dylan Walsh in Ryan Murphy’s plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck, which ran for six seasons on FX and ended in 2010. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his turn as Dr. Christian Troy.

Ten years later, he was cast as team leader Jess LaCroix on CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted. He led the procedural for three seasons before his exit in March 2022......

  Ecobee thermostat drives me crazy
Posted by: special - 07-04-2025, 08:28 PM - Forum: Tips and Deals - Replies (2)

I loved the ecobee at the old house. Just loved it, never had any complains about it. i recommended it to many friends.

This house: I installed the Ecobee about a year ago. I am so confused about how it works.

Just now, the thermostat is set to 82F, temperature inside is 79-80 and the AC is running. Why?

here is the actual graphs of temperature and humidity.

Temperature:

Humidity:

P.S. and often I see it complainint about no weather data, like it cannot get a WiFi signal. My Wifi works fine for all devices in the house, I have an Amplify (Uniquity) mesh system with dual band (5 and 2.4 GHz). No other device complains about WiFi.

Both Ecobee thermostats (zone 1 and zone 2) have weird glitches like this.

allow me to extol the virtues of Onyx
Posted by: Fritz - 07-04-2025, 08:16 PM - Forum: Tips and Deals - Replies (6)

Onyx, if ya dunno, is a simple but useful utility that has saved much aggravation in my experience.

This am, for some reason, my media server wouldn't play nothin, music or video.
I use 2 different apps, Emby & JellyFin (which are forks of each other ... ish).
Long story why.
Neither would play anything.

I ran Disk 1st Aid on my dd boot drive, the boot drive on the networked server and the drives therein.  No change.

I ran Onyx on the networked server (MacPro3,1 on High Sierra).
Restarted, happy servers both.

we built this city?!....HGTV cancels 'The Battle on the Beach' & other shows.....
Posted by: NewtonMP2100 - 07-04-2025, 07:31 PM - Forum: Tips and Deals - No Replies

....they just canceled 'Battle on the Beach' but they recently have been canceling a lot of their shows, earlier this month they canceled: Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It......

HGTV’s Battle on the Beach Cancelled After 4 Seasons, Says Co-Host

....The Battle on the Beach has been washed away by the cancellation tide going on at HGTV.

So says Alison Victoria, who co-hosted the beachfront property renovation series with Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak.

In Battle on the Beach, three skilled teams hit the beach to renovate identical beachfront properties, with some help from Boston-based design expert Nayak (Designed to Sell), expert craftsman and designer Pennington (Trading Spaces), and Victoria, a “luxe interior designer” and host of Windy City Rehab.

Season 4 aired last summer.

In the latest episode of her Pap Smear Podcast, Victoria shared with guest Retta (Parks and Recreation), “I did a show called Battle on the Beach. I love that show. It was so fun and funny. And then all of a sudden, I watched the episode, I’m like, well, where’d all that [great content] go? I get it, it’s a lot of content to try to put into 42 minutes, but where is it? Where’s the great editing?

“You’ll lose a show that way. I truly believe that,” she continued. And in fact, “Battle on the Beach did not get picked back up,” Victoria said, “which is sad, because it was like adult spring break.”

Battle on the Beach is but the latest of of several HGTV series to recently reach their apparent ends at the network: Earlier this month, the hosts of Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It all stated their shows will not be returning for additional seasons.......

.........looks like they are 'cleaning house' and just cancelling a lot of shows..........?!

Selected gripes from the Declaration of Independence

Sound familiar?

Selected gripes from the Declaration of Independence
It's all right there, folks

'He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.' (brainworm bobby, is that you?)

'He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.'

'He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.'

'He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.'

'He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.'

'He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:'

'For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:'

'For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:'

'For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:'

'For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:'

'For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:'

'For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:' ( Like a Texas Army Military buffer zone?)

'For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:'

'He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.'
