We bought a Disney run Timeshare, the Disney Vacation Club, in '98 for $9K sold for over $11K in '05. Used it numerous times and sold it for $1000 profit. The same 150 points we had is now going for about $9500 on the timeshare resell market. Ours was at Boardwalk inside Disney. I wish I had it back and was able to travel that far again. Don;t expect an ocean view or granite counters, but a perfectly livable 1 or 2 BR condo can be found in that price range. Insurance is not bad, I am paying $1500 yr for a 3 bed house in Boca Raton, Taxes are not bad, service is excellent. South Florida has crazy amount of Fire stations, fast police and ambulance response. Garbage for $350 yr (part of the taxes) includes bulk pick up every Monday.
