I am the "40 something" My dad is 70 sinething. His eyes have a litte trouble with my iPhone.

Well, as iPad saturation increases, I'm sure it won't be hard to find "a guy" who will update your iPad and fill it with all kinds of goodies if you like, for a small fee, just like there are folks who enable the computerless iPod crowd (you know, the ones you usually need oven mits to handle . . .?)
