Re: New iPad 4! Replaces original iPad bought on day one. - macphanatic - 01-12-2013 Pick up the knock-off cables at Amazon for about $2.60 each shipped. I've been using mine for a few days without issue. Re: New iPad 4! Replaces original iPad bought on day one. - space-time - 01-12-2013 IMHO, the lightning connector is a bad design. It not only that it is too small and thin and can fall into an AC outlet (and no I am not kidding, after I posted that it almost happened to me). It is very hard to unplug from iPad, I use the Apple iPad Smart Case and I can barely get enough grip to unplug the Lightning conector without pulling from the wire. I do not have large hands. Seems like it was designed for a child's fingers, not for an adult. on iPhone it is acceptable because the base of the iPhone is not tilted, but on iPad the edge where you plug it in is tilted and the add the case and more than half of the lightning connector is not accesible to pull from. My guess is to make it less tempting to try to pick up the device by the cable.... Re: New iPad 4!
