Re: What's happening with Apple Updates? - Black - 11-14-2015 Who could have predicted that Apple's legendary tonedeafness would eventually bite it in the @$$? :dunno: Re: What's happening with Apple Updates? - Bimwad - 11-14-2015 I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, and for Apple to completely channel every piece of software they distribute through the App Store apps, both OS X and iOS. They've already partially crippled iTunes, and the Software Downloads page on their site is now a pain to use. Spending a gazilion dollars on their data centers and cloud doesn't seem to have raised them to a level that's worthy of their reputation, not to mention industry standards. Re: What's happening with Apple Updates? - gabester - 11-15-2015 Apple's never had the greatest QC and now they're taking on too many disjointed initiatives without adequate unit testing for all the potential variables. You do something simple like run all updates every time, you'll probably be OK. But start skipped and exempting updates and I suspect you'll start to encounter weird problems because Apple just expects that no one would upgrade AppA to version x.y if AppB is still on version t.z. |
